Memory B-Lymphocyte
Long-lived B-lymphocytes that have previously encountered an antigen, allowing for a faster and more robust antibody response upon subsequent exposure to the same antigen.
Key Functions:
- Provides long-term humoral immune memory.
- Rapidly differentiates into plasma cells and produces antibodies upon re-exposure.
- Crucial for acquired immunity.
Interacting Systems & Components:
- B-lymphocyte (type of)
- Immune System (component of adaptive immunity)
- Antigen (remembers)
- Antibody (produces)
- Plasma Cell (differentiates into)
