A specialized enteroendocrine cell found in the intestinal mucosa, primarily responsible for secreting secretin.

- Secretes secretin in response to acidic chyme in the duodenum.
- Stimulates the pancreas to release bicarbonate-rich fluid.
- Regulates gastric acid secretion and gastrointestinal motility.
