Cells found in the adrenal cortex, responsible for synthesizing and secreting various steroid hormones, including glucocorticoids, mineralocorticoids, and adrenal androgens.

Key Functions:

  • Produces steroid hormones (e.g., cortisol, aldosterone).
  • Regulates metabolism, blood pressure, and stress response.
  • Organized into three zones: zona glomerulosa, zona fasciculata, and zona reticularis.
